Transcol Restoration Lime RC24

Hydrophobic mortar based on mixed binders, used for the rehabilitation and preservation of old buildings. Suitable for coating exterior or interior surfaces, such as stone, brick/adobe, and wattle and daub walls.

Substrate

Apply to stone, brick/adobe and cob.

Ensure the support has good adhesion and stability. In case of significant degradation, correct first with Transcol Restoration Parget.

If the surface is exposed to intense sunlight, lightly dampen it 20 minutes before application.

Do not apply on paint, plaster, or certain special coatings, expansion joints, or cracked areas, or on materials with a high potential for expansion.

Ensure the surface is adequately moistened, so it is neither too dry nor too wet.

Application Method

The mixture can be prepared manually, using a concrete mixer or spray machine.

Mix the contents of the 25 Kg bag with 4 to 4.5 liters of clean water until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, free of lumps.

Once mixed, the mortar should be applied within the next 30 minutes, in a uniform layer with a thickness of 15 mm to 30 mm.

For thicknesses greater than 30 mm, apply a fiberglass mesh 10x10 over the first layer, still fresh, and after the hardening process begins, apply the second layer, up to 30 mm thick per layer.

After application, regularize the surface and smooth it properly with a trowel and straightedge.

The curing time is approximately 28 days, depending on atmospheric conditions.

It is recommended to use fiberglass mesh between plaster layers in areas susceptible to expansion.

Safety

It is recommended to use a dust mask to protect the respirable crystalline silica, goggles and gloves when handling the product. If there is contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not ingest.
