Transcol Cork

Coating mortar made of cork, used for wall coatings where thermal and acoustic insulation is desired.

Substrate

Apply on ceramic brick, cement block, concrete, stone masonry, and partition walls.

Masonry surfaces must have good adhesion and stability for mortar application. If not, the surface must be pre-treated using water/sand blasting or surface brushing.

For highly deteriorated surfaces, apply Transcol Adere-P to consolidate the surface. Large cavities should be filled with brick or stone before applying Transcol Cork.

Do not apply on paint, plaster, or other special coatings.

Thoroughly wet the substrate so that it is neither too dry nor too damp.

Application Method

The mixture can be prepared manually using a concrete mixer or a low-speed mixing machine.

Mix the contents of the 18 Kg bag with 8 to 8.5 liters of clean water until obtaining a homogeneous, lump-free paste. Once mixed, the mortar must be applied within 20 minutes without adding more water after mixing.

Apply in a single uniform layer with a minimum thickness of 40 mm. Level the surface and press adequately with a straightedge.

This mortar requires a finish with Transcol Revdecor or Transcol Revtherm, applied in a 0.5 mm thick layer.

Do not apply this product in very humid conditions to avoid risks of carbonation or efflorescence.

If surfaces are exposed to intense sun or strong winds, they should be adequately protected during curing, for up to 28 days, using shading nets.

Safety

It is recommended to use a dust mask to protect the respirable crystalline silica, goggles and gloves when handling the product. If there is contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not ingest.
