Transcol Extra Flex Adhesive White
Construction adhesive suitable for bonding ceramic tiles or natural stones (up to 60x60x1.5 cm) on new or old surfaces, on floors or walls exposed to contraction.
Substrate
Apply on cementitious substrates such as renders, screeds, and concrete.
For reinforced concrete surfaces, a bonding promoter should be applied beforehand.
Concrete or masonry walls and floors must be at least 30 days old, while plaster and screeded mortar must be at least 14 days old. For high-absorption vertical surfaces, dampen them before applying the adhesive mortar.
Ensure walls are flat and even, with an irregularity not exceeding 2 mm per linear meter, making corrections if necessary.
Application Method
The mixture should preferably be prepared mechanically using a low-speed mechanical mixer.
Mix the 25 Kg bag with approximately 8 liters of clean water until obtaining a homogeneous, lump-free paste. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes before application. Spread the adhesive evenly using a notched trowel (6 to 8 mm). Then, place the tile, pressing it with vibrating movements until achieving a layer thickness of approximately 4 mm.
Leave at least 2 mm joints between tiles, which should be filled with grout capable of absorbing dimensional variations.
Grouting can be done 24 to 48 hours after bonding.
For better adhesion or when bonding larger tiles, double bonding should be used.
Once applied, the adhesive has an adjustment time of 30 minutes.
The floor can be walked on by construction personnel after 2 days and is fully trafficable after 15 days.
Safety
It is recommended to use a dust mask to protect the respirable crystalline silica, goggles and gloves when handling the product. If there is contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not ingest.
